Mushrooms of Southcentral Alaska


This course brings interested students of mycology together who wish to collect, identify, prepare and/or preserve wild Southcentral Alaskan mushrooms. Shared will be a wealth of information on Alaskan wild and/or edible mushrooms, their eco-physiological roles and associated laboratory activities directed toward their identification. The course provides available resources as an outreach program for continuing education on mushroom photography, spore printing, and identification using keys, mycophagy, preservation, labeling and herbarium accessioning.


This class takes place Friday, September 8, from 6-9 p.m.; Saturday, September 9, from 9 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. (with an optional 6-9 p.m. lab); and Sunday, September 10 from 9 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.
