Beginning Fur Sewing

Description

This class will introduce students to the basics of fur sewing: selecting and preparing furs, choosing and customizing patterns, basic sewing, lining, and finishing. Each student will make one major project, either a trapper style hat, mittens, or parka ruff. The class will meet for 2.5 hours once a week for four weeks. Class will be approximately 20% lecture, 20% demonstration, 60% individual work time with one-on-one instruction. Students will probably need to do some sewing between classes to finish their projects. No experience necessary, appropriate for ages 16 and up.

The cost of this class is being offset with funding from Valdez United Way.

This class is being offered in Glennallen as well as in Kenny Lake. Please be sure to register for the location you prefer. Any questions, contact PWSC locally at 822-3673.
